Dark sonority rar4/16/2023 Yeah, a few are recent discoveries, like Dark Sonority, Randy and Astaroth, while some have been with me for many years. I tried to take mostly obscure bands that deserve more attention, but more known bands like Hawkwind, Urfaust, Christian death, Samson, Love etc also made it on, mainly because they rock. I just took bands/tracks that I really love basically. How did you decide which songs/bands to add to the compilation? Are many of the bands recent discoveries? Nekromantheon are representative of everything that makes great thrash metal, violent frenetic riffing accompanied by a percussive maelstrom and hauntingly aggressive vocals synonymous with the great sound of bands such as Destruction, Kreator, Merciless, Sodom and Whiplash.ġ.Talk is Poison - Talk is Poison (Straight to Hell, 7" ep, USA 1998)Ģ. They then appeared on the Speed and spikes Volume III split alongside Abigail, followed by their first lp, 'Divinity of death' and a split with fellow Norwegian band, Audiopain.Įarlier this year they released their second full length record, 'Rise, vulcan spectre' on Indie recordings. Nekromantheon began in 2005, releasing their first record an ep titled, 'We're rotting' in 2007. Their next album is to be recorded next year, and bodes to be an excellent continuation of their discography while further developing their unique death metal sound. Obliteration successfully evokes the nostalgic greatness of the classic death metal sound, while manifesting their own style and encompassing a wide range of influences. The band then went on to release their first lp, 'Perpetual decay' on Tyrant Syndicate records in 2007 followed by the infamous 'Nekropsalms' record. Recording their first demo in 2004, and their debut ep 'Total fucking obliteration' the following year. Obliteration was formed in 2001 in Kolbotn, Norway. Next up is Sindre Solem Bassist/vocalist for the Norwegian thrash band Nekromantheon and Guitarist/vocalist for death metallers, Obliteration.
